Privacy
Short version: what you put into QR Mason stays on your device. The only thing measured is page views, without cookies.
What happens to your data
- Text, links, Wi-Fi passwords and contact details you type are turned into codes by JavaScript in your browser. They are not sent to any server.
- Logos, images and spreadsheets you choose, drop or paste are read in the browser tab and never uploaded. Downloads (PNG, SVG, ZIP) are created on your device.
- Camera: the scanner asks for camera permission only when you press “Use the camera”. Camera frames are processed locally to find a QR code and are never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. The camera is switched off as soon as a code is found, when you press stop, or when you leave or hide the page.
- Clipboard: the site writes to the clipboard only when you press a copy button, and reads a pasted image only when you paste into the scanner.
What is stored in your browser
- Your light/dark theme choice, in
localStorage, if you change it. - When you press “Add a logo or gradient in the workshop” on a builder page, the code’s content and basic style are put in this tab’s
sessionStorageso the workshop can pick them up, and removed as soon as it has.
No cookies are set, and there are no accounts, ads or third-party trackers.
Analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It works without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type, paste or drop into the tools. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver the pages, such as your IP address.
Links to other sites
QR Mason links to other websites, including CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Their own privacy policies apply once you visit them. The scanner never opens links from scanned codes by itself.
